Hi Everyone, Welcome to the GL Virtual Spring Open House. If you have any questions, please use the chat box for this.
Bonjour à tous, Bienvenue aux Porte Ouvertes de Glendon. Si vous avez des questions, vous pouvez les poser avec la boite 'Chat'
I have many!My questions:1. How long is this program? Master or certification2. How much does it cost? I will be an international student.3. I have a Bachelor diploma in Modern languages, and I finished a specialization in Bilingual Education in 2016. It was completed in English. Do I need an English test?4. Can I work while studying?5. Due to the coronavirus, universities are closed and transcripts are difficult to get. Also, the Canadian embassy could get more time to process the student's visas. What can I do?6. Those transcripts have to be translated here in Bogota or Canada?
The program I ask for is Translation.
Thank you Maria, I am going to take care of you and send you some information as you are an international student
How do you reach the different levels
During the presentation, can you talk about Frech certificate programs or how to take French courses at Glendon as a mature student/ continuing education. Je cherche à prendre des cours du soir. merci
I am in grade 11 and thinking of applying to Glendon for French along with a possible BEd. Is there a verbal and written test in the application process?
Good questions. These will be relayed to the presenters.
Keep them coming!
So we can pursue any program at Glendon, taking courses in both English and French which will towards our degree, and we will get our official bilingualism or trilingualism certificate?
can you put that email in the chat?
this is a question about residence, but what do I need to bring with me to residence
if you're going into the french as a second language do you only need your French from your highschool diploma or do you expect the delf b2
if you have any questions and you are not Canadian, landed immigrant and refugees, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
If we get placed in the advanced level, for example, but we can't hold up, will we be moved down to the medium level?
do you still have to take the test if you're coming from a francophone school ?
Everyone writes the French assessment.
If you get into the French studies program but not the education one will you be able to do the education program later
If I am taking a four year degree, what percentage of the courses would be taught in French? I am a Anglophone with no French
hello do you have a bachelor degree in hospitality management at glendon?
how/when do we write the placement test?
I've seen that York will be offering some small classes in-person for the fall 2020 year. Is it known yet if Glendon will operate fully in-person, since it is known for having small class sizes?
Does Glendon offer a co-op program?
Due to corona, how can the people that can’t travel deal with the whole residency application situation?
If you have a visitor coming, where would they stay?
what do we have to bring with us to residence
are there a lot of students
Is there a place for visitors to stay on campus?
is the cafeteria clean
Do you think if we will begin in September on line?
So with any program that we choose to pursue at Glendon, we take courses towards our degree in English and French and at the end of our program, we will receive our bilingual certification, or trilingual if we pursue our program in trilingual excellence?
Thank you for all the information.

I am interested in pursuing the Trilingual Excellence path, as I am French Immersion and am taking Spanish throughout high school. When you are assessed in Spanish, does it also determine what level of Spanish you start at, or is it introductory Spanish first for everyone?
