MCH Online 2020
Model City Hall is a non-profit that strives to make municipal politics accessible to all high school and post secondary students.

This year, we are excited to be hosting a FREE online roundtable-style conference via ZOOM on Saturday, August 8th from 10:15 AM to 6:15 PM. You can expect a day of light-hearted debate with guest speakers from various public and private sectors! You will also have the opportunity to write resolutions that will be sent to people working in the municipal government to take your ideas further.

No prior Model UN or Model Parliament experience is required to participate and all high school and post secondary students from the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area are invited to join! We encourage participants from LGBT+ and BIPOC groups.

Please note that participating for the whole day is NOT required, and you can sign up for whichever committee(s) you are interested in. For more information about the proposed itinerary, click here.

At this year’s conference, we will be offering three committees:

COVID-19 Committee (Topics: Mental Health During the Pandemic and Emergency Funding)
Human Rights Committee (Topics: Police Brutality & Racial Injustice and Human Trafficking)
STEAM Committee (Topics: Surveillance & Privacy and Racialized AI/Algorithmic Justice)

You can find the resource guides for each committee and the rules of procedure at our website at modelcityhall.org. We look forward to e-meeting you there!

This event is supported by the BEST Lab and the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University.

Aug 8, 2020 10:00 AM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)
