Policy Advocacy and Mobilizing Change Strategies | Bicycles for Development Transnational Collective Launch
Based on the feedback from key stakeholders involved in our previous two workshops (held virtually in January and June 2022), we will be hosting our third workshop in February 2023 with a focus on policy development, change and advocacy strategies in and through bicycle-related social justice work. We seek to build on the expertise of our panelists, all of whom have experience in producing, shaping and advocating for policy change in relation to one or more of the following areas: participatory planning, informal urban transport, urban and rural mobility and/or accessibility in urban design. In bringing these panelists together, our goal is to: 1) co-develop and curate a Transnational Bicycles and Development Collective; and 2) co-create a digital platform to host a social learning space for key bicycles and development organizations and interested individuals. Ultimately, our objective is to collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure these collective items are useful for fostering horizontal learning, resource sharing, knowledge dissemination and will help drive policy learning, advocacy and change strategies.
